South Burnett Beef Trading commenced operation on 17th July 2006 after Andrew McDonald purchased the abattoir business from the previous owners 'Bindaree Beef'. The related McDonald family group based at Inverell owned the previous business, however
the plant is now operated independently and separately from the family group by the new management team.
The Abattoir is situated at Murgon in the heart of the South Burnett, which is surrounded by many of Queensland's major cattle producers, and is in close proximity to Australia's most efficient freight ports and terminals. Under the current management, the plant has taken a new direction focusing
solely on 70-day -100 day GF production combined with an MSA program that underpins the future direction of the business. This is achieved by ensuring their quality product focus is maintained from the paddock right through to our international end users and customers.
The company exports premium high quality Halal certified meat and related products. All products are manufactured under strict ISO, HACCP, and AQIS quality control systems and inspections to ensure a consistent high quality premium product meets or exceeds our customer expectations, this is our main
plant in QLD responsible for processing our organic cattle.
